Cable Label Materials
Cable marking materials sit in the T7 range: tags, card labels and heat-shrink sleeves each have their own codes; self-laminating structures use T506 vinyl. Product numbers (TFM/TWP/TFT) and material codes are two different systems.
Start with T7, then choose the structure
Cable marking materials are numbered in the T7 range (T701–T721): T701 is the RSFR rigid tag material (-55 °C to 125 °C, laser-markable), T702 is the UL flame-retardant tag material, T703 is used for continuous marker cards, T709 for card labels, and T730–T736 are polyolefin heat-shrink sleeve materials.
Self-laminating labels (TFM) use T506: translucent vinyl with permanent acrylic adhesive, soft enough to conform to curves and suitable for wires and tubes; flag labels (TFT) map to T302 / T442 and similar materials depending on the model.
Keep product numbers and material codes apart: TFM, TWP and TFT are product-form numbers; T7xx and T506 are material codes. Quotations usually list both.
We supply materials only: rolls, die-cut labels, pre-printing and print service. Printing equipment and ribbons are provided by your existing production line or equipment supplier; we supply the matching parameters and support sample testing.

Four fixing methods
Self-laminating (T506)
Translucent vinyl overlays the print area and conforms to curves, for wires and tubes.
Wrap-around (TWP)
Wraps the cable and bonds to itself; stays put on thin wires and dense harnesses.
Flag (TFT)
Folds into a standing flag for a larger, readable identification area.
Tags and sleeves (T7)
T701/T702 rigid tags, T703 continuous cards and T730–T736 sleeves, rated from -55 °C.
Cable marking material codes
The T7 range covers tags, card labels and heat-shrink sleeves; self-laminating and flag labels use their own material codes. The table shows common mappings — full data is in the TDS.
| Material code | Product | Construction | Temperature | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T701 | Rigid tag | RSFR polyolefin, non-adhesive, 0.305 mm | -55 °C to 125 °C | Harnesses and harsh environments; laser-markable |
| T702 | Flame-retardant tag | RSFR, UL flame retardant | See TDS | Power, rail and data-centre cabinets |
| T703 | Continuous marker card (TTC) | Polyolefin, non-adhesive | See TDS | Cable bundles, cabinets and patch panels |
| T709 | Card label (TCK) | Polyolefin card stock | See TDS | Terminals, wire numbers and fixed positions |
| T730–T736 | Heat-shrink sleeve (TRC) | Polyolefin, 2:1 / 3:1 | See TDS | Thin wires and cable bundles |
| T506 | Self-laminating label (TFM) | Translucent vinyl + permanent acrylic | -40 °C to 85 °C | Wires, tubes and curved surfaces |
| T302 / T442 | Flag label (TFT) | Polyester / synthetic paper by model | See TDS | Cable bundles and large identification areas |
The T7 range contains 21 material codes (T701–T721) plus the T730–T736 sleeve range; the table lists common combinations, others are selected by structure. TFM/TWP/TFT are product numbers, not material codes.
Cable labels in four steps
01 Wire gauge and scenario
Wire diameter, bundling method, ambient temperature and fixing position.
02 Construction
Self-laminating, wrap-around, flag-style or standard self-adhesive.
03 Sample validation
Apply to the actual wire diameter and check for lifting and readability; confirm temperature and flame-retardant requirements for T7 materials first.
04 Volume delivery
Rolls or die-cut finished labels, with pre-printing and print service.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose between self-laminating and wrap-around?
Self-laminating suits harnesses and cabinets where the print area needs protection; wrap-around suits thin wires and high-density harnesses and needs no additional cable tie.
Does it need a dedicated printer?
Cable labels are mostly thermal transfer and print on common wire marking and desktop printers. We do not sell equipment, but we advise on suitable thickness, core and print parameters.
Do you have flame-retardant or halogen-free grades?
Yes. The polyester and polyolefin series include flame-retardant and halogen-free low-smoke grades, with the corresponding test reports available.
Not sure which material to use?
Tell us the substrate, service temperature, print method and service life, and a materials engineer will propose a combination, with free samples and print validation.
